Akosua Puni Essien is a Ghanaian international fashion model and the ex-wife of former Chelsea player Micheal Essien.
She is the daughter of Dr. Isaac Puni, Senior Minister for Foreign Affairs in Ghana. She was born in Accra, but her father’s work resulted in her family moving to many African countries including Uganda, Guinea, Liberia, Togo, and Nigeria.
Currently, she is the founder of Akosua Essien Academy which is an education-focused charitable organization.
Akosua Puni Essien separated after it was alleged that Micheal Essien was cheating on her with Gambia Ghana base actress Princess Shyngle. She got not take it anymore so Akosua was packed out of the house and left her marriage with her two adorable children.
Akosua Puni Essien’s separation with the husband came right after Asamoah has issues with his family that got Ghanaians talking and asking what at all do these players want from women.
In 2017 its was reported that Mrs Puni Essien had bought a club for €237,000 at a bankruptcy auction held by FC Como Limited. The figure was €10,000 more than the starting price.
In a press statement published on the club’s website, it was confirmed that it is now owned by Mrs. Akosua Puni Essien and has been renamed, FC Como.
“Mrs. Puni Essien and her team will soon be in our city to meet the fans and supporters of the Club. In the meantime, they intend to let you know that they are honored to be here, in Como, and become part of a club which boasts 110 years of history”.
The bankruptcy trustee disclosed that in recent months as many as 31 individuals have come forward asking for information about purchasing the cash-strapped team.
They included Chinese, Indian, Emirati, Brazilian as well as various Italian entrepreneurs but Mrs Puni Essien beat them with her bid which followed a visit to the stadium and sports center of Como a month ago.
The sale, explained at a press conference by the curator Francesco Di Michele, will be completed by the end of the month and does not include the current brand of Como Orsenigo and the sports center.
