The University of Ghana School of Law was established in 1962 by an Act of Parliament to provide law education at the tertiary level to Ghanaian students. Since then, it has grown steadily and now enjoys a good reputation within the legal profession both at home and abroad.
In 1963, the University of Ghana was established under a unique statute that made it an independent body empowered to award its own degrees. This Act also provided for two faculties: The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science and Technology. In 2003, the University Law School was established as an autonomous unit within the Faculty of Law, establishing a long-standing tradition in legal education at KNUST.
After four years of study, you will be enrolled in one of the law bodies in Ghana. You can choose to attend Zenith University College of Law, University of Ghana School of Law, GIMPA, or UG for two years. After this time, you will be eligible to enroll at the Ghana School of Law for your Professional law course.
