Despite the fact that most people are familiar with the image of a nurse, there are a lot of misconceptions about what a nurse does.

The primary role of a nurse is to advocate and care for individuals and support them through health and illness. However, there are various other responsibilities of a nurse that form a part of the role of a nurse, including to:

Nurses have a variety of roles in the 21st Century and therefore have a variety of “uniforms”. Nurse scientists may wear a lab coat, while nurse executives may wear a suit. The “uniform” will vary by country and role..

The profession has remained a strict code of ethic not to deviate from their main goal. Nurses were strongly advised not to wear jewelry that could distract them from their work or get trapped on the skin of patients while providing care. A fob watch, often known as a pendant watch, is associated with nursing. The fob watch frees up the nurses’ hands for client care while also preventing the wristwatch from becoming a disease vector.
